Educational Tools
Intraoral Cameras: During your checkup (preventive care) or new patient exam, we’ll use a tiny, handheld camera to take pictures inside your mouth, then we'll display the images on your chairside monitor. Dr. Marcano will explain his findings and partner with you in treatment planning.
Wax Ups: A wax up is a model of your smile, altered to reflect the proposed benefits of specific therapies.
Digital Camera: Are you ready for your close-up? Digital photography allows us to magnify your smile and show you problem areas up close on our digital TV monitor.
Modern Diagnostics
Digital X-Rays: We take digital X-rays at our Sarasota dental office. Digital X-rays emit 80% less radiation than traditional radiography. They can be immediately viewed on chairside monitors and electronically transmitted to specialists and insurance companies.
Panorex: Our Panorex X-ray machine provides comprehensive, two-dimensional images to aid in efficient diagnosis and treatment planning.
DIAGNOdent: Dr. Marcano uses this non-invasive laser to scan teeth for cavities. DIAGNOdent by KaVo identifies early-stage decay, called demineralization, and lets us react quickly to restore teeth to health.
ViziLite: Oral cancer claims thousands of lives each year. Early detection greatly improves survival chances, so Dr. Marcano diligently screens for this disease. He uses ViziLite, which employs a special mouth rinse and light to identify suspicious mouth lesions that require further investigation.

Air Abrasion: This gentle, efficient tool emits a stream of air and tiny abrasive particles to remove decay and prepare teeth for restoration. Air abrasion does not emit heat, vibration, and noise like a traditional dental drill, so you can enjoy a more comfortable experience.
Oral Sedation: Dr. Marcano calms the nerves of anxious patients with oral sedation. If you qualify for sedation dentistry, you'll simply take a sedative prior to your treatment. While you rest comfortably in the dental chair, Dr. Marcano will perform your dental work, potentially completing many procedures in a single visit. Nitrous Oxide: We offer nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, to promote relaxation and create a positive dental care experience.
The Wand: This innovative, computerized tool administers anesthesia continually in precisely the right location.
