END TOOTHACHES AND PAINS WITH ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

ROOT CANALS CAN ELIMINATE TOOTH PAIN

Despite many popular opinions, the purpose of a root canal is not to cause pain but to relieve tooth pain and infection. Root canals are typically used to treat teeth that have been severely damaged by decay and /or trauma, to where infection has spread inside of the tooth, damaging the sensitive pulp and nerves. After root canal treatment, you should feel the reduced sensation of pain and should be able to use it as normal once again. A root canal is typically pain-free and when caught early enough, can save you from needing to have your tooth extracted.

SYMPTOMS OF TOOTH INFECTION:

  • Constant toothache and pain
  • Tooth sensitivity to hot or cold drinks
  • Pain when biting or chewing
  • Swelling of the face or lymph nodes
  • Pus or an abscess forming

OUR ROOT CANAL PROCESS

When treating you for a tooth infection, we approach the root canal process in a gentle and minimally invasive manner. Dr. Francisco Marcano will create a small opening in your tooth to access the infected pulp inside. The infection will then be cleaned out of the tooth and the inside will be reshaped to preserve the structure of the tooth. A biocompatible material called gutta-percha will then be added to fill the interior of the tooth and seal the area. Finally, we will reshape your treated tooth and restore it with a lifelike dental crown, which will allow you to use it like normal—free of pain.
